The Raumati Marine Gardens has a children’s playground with a very popular splash pad water play feature. There’s also a flying fox, slides and sandpit, along with bbq facilities. There’s plenty of shaded areas or you can bring your own umbrella.
Why not bring your picnic and make it a day out for the whole family.
Public toilets are located near the splash pad facing the beach, or near the entrance to Marine Gardens on Raumati Road.
Raumati Marine Gardens are owned and maintained by the Kapiti Coast District Council.
Raumati Beach is great for long walks (with or without the dog), and for swimming.
Eating
If you’re hungry, the Raumati Beach shopping area has a tavern, dairy, café, several fast food outlets and restaurants, and a fish and chip shop. Meals are also available at the Waterfront Café facing the beach, where you can watch boat launching and look out to Kapiti Island and watch the sun set over the South Island.
Shopping
There are several ladies clothing shops, craft shops, and second-hand shops that are open for limited hours on Sundays at Raumati.
You can also shop at Paraparaumu Beach, and Coastlands.
